A lot has happened

A lot has happened since the blog was created, but unfortunately it has not been kept up to date. There are now more than 108 Emmanuel churches, and there has been significant expansion of certain ministries that they coordinate. There has been quite a bit of changes at the main property of Kigobe--with the construction of a new facility for the Timothy Bible School, and the expansion of the Discovery School.

Here is some more recent information (in summary form only) about the Community of Emmanuel Churches, as prepared by Remy Nsengiyumva (pictured here with his wife Esperence).

CEEM BURUNDI, COMMUNAUTE DES EGLISES EMMANUEL DU BURUNDI.
Network of more than one hundred  Assemblies in Burundi

CEEM Burundi, Communauté des Eglises Emmanuel du Burundi. It is a Network of more than one hundred Assemblies in Burundi and this network is known before the law of Burundi. We have a board in that network that has to deal with all kind of problems that can arise in all our assemblies. The Network has an Executive committee composed of seven people elected in the General Assembly who are working on the volunteer basis.
The Network has General Secretary who is supervising the work in the office; his job is to implement the decisions of the Executive Committee.  He works with a team of three other people in the office.
Theses are the number of the churches: 108 brethren churches in Burundi which coordinate the following activities and ministries:
  1. Timothy Bible Institutes for Elders, we train Elders from more than 100 churches, teaching them the basic teaching of the Bible, church leadership and other doctrines that are needed for the church.
  2. Emmaus, Correspondence Bible School.
  3. Sports Ministry for the youth.
  4. Bible Seminars and training organized countrywide.
  5. Christian Film operating in the whole country.
We have also social projects that are helping to convey the message of Jesus Christ to this category of people. Through social projects one can bring the message of Jesus Christ to many people at the same time helping the government in its effort to develop its people.

  1. Primary School for deaf kids
  2. Primary School for blind kids
  3. Community Based Rehabilitation Project
  4. Ophthalmology project
  5. Kigobe Health Center
  6. Discovery School- Primary school
  7. Supporting Kids born with Malformation.

Projects for the CEEM Burundi, we are envisaging to support the work that we are doing in Burundi:

  1. Future plan to have a big construction of Bible school which will be on the level of University
